## Tree surgery in Liverpool
Liverpool is one of the more demanding places in the North West to carry out tree work properly, and it is one of our busiest. The city has a huge stock of mature, protected trees in dense residential streets, which means the work is rarely about whether a tree can be felled, and nearly always about how it comes down without touching a roof, a glass roof extension, a boundary wall or a car.

We cover the city and its suburbs from our base in St Helens: Aigburth, Allerton, Woolton, Childwall, Wavertree, West Derby, Croxteth, Walton, Anfield, Crosby and the surrounding districts. Access is the defining constraint. Where a chipper can reach the tree, the job is straightforward. Where it cannot, we rig down in small sections and barrow or carry everything out through the house or a side gate, protecting surfaces as we go.

Daniel Walsh leads every job, City & Guilds Level 3 Arboriculture at Myerscough College, plus all relevant certificates held by Daniel and the team members, 15 years in the trade, with two regular crew and an additional qualified climber brought in for the largest dismantles. Public liability cover up to £5 million, details available on request.

### How fast we get to Liverpool
Liverpool is around 30 to 40 minutes from our St Helens base, so quote visits are normally arranged within a few days. We work 6am to 10pm, seven days, and a genuinely dangerous tree in the city is brought forward inside those hours rather than queued behind routine work.

## Why choose DW Treecare in Liverpool

### Conservation Area and TPO experience
Large parts of Liverpool sit inside Conservation Areas and carry protected trees. We check status before quoting, work to council specification, and submit TPO applications in-house, one of our reviewers specifically credits us with getting their consent through.

### Built for tight access
Most Liverpool gardens will not take a chipper anywhere near the tree. We plan the extraction route at the quote stage and we do not leave brash piled in the street or drag it across your lawn.

### Insured to £5 million
Public liability cover up to £5 million, details available on request. On terraced and semi-detached streets where the crown sits over three properties, that cover is not a formality.

### 5.0 from 31 Google reviews
Consistent feedback on turning up when we say we will, explaining the work clearly, and leaving the garden cleaner than we found it: the three things that actually matter when strangers are working at height over your house.

## Common tree problems in Liverpool

### Victorian housing and mature street stock
Liverpool's Victorian and Edwardian suburbs were built with generous front gardens and planted accordingly. Those trees are now at full size against buildings well over a century old, with shallow foundations and soft lime mortar that does not tolerate root heave or persistent damp shade.

### Protected trees everywhere
Between Conservation Areas and individual Tree Preservation Orders, a large share of Liverpool's significant trees cannot legally be touched without consent. Unauthorised work carries serious penalties, which is why we check and apply before a saw comes out of the van.

### Access that rules out machinery
Terraces with rear entries, flagged yards, gated alleys and no drive are the norm. That does not make removal impossible; it makes it a hand-balled, sectional job that has to be priced and planned honestly rather than underquoted and abandoned halfway.

### Coastal wind and estuary exposure
Wind funnelling off the Mersey hits tall, unthinned crowns hard, and the trees that fail in winter storms are usually the ones nobody reduced. Taking wind sail out of a large crown before autumn is the cheapest intervention available.

## How a Liverpool job runs

- Step 1

### Free site visit and inspection
Daniel comes out, looks at the tree or hedge in person, checks access, ground conditions and what sits underneath. No quoting from photographs.

- Step 2

### Assessment and consent check
We identify the species, the condition and the sensible option, reduce, prune or remove, and check for Tree Preservation Orders or Conservation Area status. Any application is prepared and submitted in-house.

- Step 3

### Written price and agreed date
You get the price in writing with the work specified, then a start date that holds. Our reviewers mention that more than anything else.

- Step 4

### Controlled execution
The drop zone is set out, limbs are rigged and lowered rather than dropped where anything sits beneath, and roadside work is coned and managed. Daniel works on site with two regular crew, plus an extra qualified climber on the largest jobs.

- Step 5

### Clearance and final walk-round
Everything is chipped on site and recycled for biomass; nothing to landfill, included as standard. The site is raked and swept, and we walk the job with you before we leave.

## Liverpool tree surgery questions

### Which parts of Liverpool do you cover?
The city and its suburbs, including Aigburth, Allerton, Woolton, Childwall, Wavertree, West Derby, Croxteth, Walton, Anfield and Crosby, plus the surrounding Merseyside towns.

### How fast can you get to Liverpool?
Around 30 to 40 minutes from our St Helens base. Free quote visits are usually arranged within a few days and dangerous trees are prioritised within our 6am to 10pm working day.

### What does tree removal cost in Liverpool?
It depends on size, access and what sits underneath the tree; a hand-balled removal from a rear yard takes longer than the same tree with driveway access. There is no fixed price list; the site visit and quote are free and the price is given in writing.

### Do you offer emergency tree work in Liverpool?
We work 6am to 10pm, seven days, and urgent unsafe trees are prioritised within those hours. We do not advertise 24/7 call-out because we will not promise cover we cannot properly staff.

### My tree is in a Conservation Area, can you still work on it?
Yes, with the correct consent. We check the designation, prepare the notification or TPO application, submit it to the council on your behalf and carry out the work to the approved specification.

### There is no access to my garden. Can the tree still come out?
Yes. It comes down in small sections and goes out by hand, with floors and surfaces protected if we need to come through the property. We will tell you at the quote stage exactly how we plan to do it.

### Can you work over a glass extension or conservatory?
Yes, those limbs are rigged and lowered rather than dropped, which is slower and safer. We carry public liability cover up to £5 million, details available on request.

### Do you remove ivy from house walls?
Yes. Ivy is cut, killed back at the base and stripped off carefully so the pointing comes to no more harm than it already has, and we take the growth away with us.

### What happens to all the waste?
Chipped on site and recycled for biomass. Nothing goes to landfill and removal is included as standard, not billed as an extra.

### Do you work for landlords and businesses in Liverpool?
Yes, private householders, landlords, letting agents and commercial sites. We have also worked as a subcontractor for council contractors and on SSSI-designated ground.
