## Tree surgery in Maghull
Maghull is suburban Merseyside at its most typical: long residential streets, semi-detached and detached houses with rear gardens of a decent size, and boundaries defined almost everywhere by hedging. Two jobs dominate our work here, hedges that have grown well past what a domestic trimmer can handle, and mature garden trees that have outgrown their position.

The hedge work is mostly leylandii, laurel and privet. Left for a few seasons, a leylandii boundary goes from a neat two metres to four or five, browns out at the base where light no longer reaches, and starts taking half the neighbour's garden with it. Reducing it properly, with the arisings chipped and removed, is a very different job from a topping with a hedge trimmer.

The tree work is the classic suburban pattern: a sycamore, ash, willow or cherry planted decades ago, now lifting patio flags, dropping into gutters, and shading a north-facing garden for most of the day. Sometimes the answer is a reduction, sometimes it is removal; we will tell you which honestly, on a free site visit.

Daniel Walsh leads every job, with City & Guilds Level 3 Arboriculture from Myerscough College, plus all relevant certificates held by Daniel and the team members and 15 years in the trade. Public liability cover up to £5 million, details available on request.

## Why choose DW Treecare in Maghull

### Hedge work done properly, not topped
A reduction cut to the right points, level along its length, with the base tidied and every clipping removed. That is what keeps a leylandii boundary maintainable instead of browning out and looking worse each year.

### Free site visit, price in writing
Someone comes out, looks at the job, and gives you a figure before anything is booked. There is no fixed price list because no two gardens are the same, and no extras appear afterwards.

### Rated 5.0 from 31 Google reviews
Reviewers mention lawns left undamaged after big removals, waste taken away, and timber cut and stacked when they asked for it. That level of care is the point of using us.

### Insured to £5 million
Public liability cover up to £5 million, details available on request, relevant when work sits over a conservatory, a fence line or a neighbour's garden.

## Common tree problems in Maghull

### Leylandii boundaries at twice their intended height
Maghull's postwar and later housing used conifer hedging everywhere. Leylandii grows up to a metre a year and will not regenerate from brown wood, so leaving it too long removes the option of reducing it neatly, at that point it is reduce hard and accept the look, or take it out.

### Mature trees against patios and drives
Trees planted close to the house decades ago are now big enough for roots to lift flags, crack a drive and get into drainage. Removal plus stump grinding below ground level is what allows the surface to be relaid properly rather than patched.

### Flat, wet ground and shallow rooting
The low-lying ground around Maghull and the canal corridor holds water. Trees on soft, saturated soil have less anchorage than their crowns imply, which increases wind-throw risk on anything tall and unreduced.

### Overhang and light disputes between neighbours
Close suburban plots make shading and overhang a common source of friction. A properly specified reduction or crown lift usually satisfies both sides, and it is a lot cheaper than the alternative of felling a tree that did not need to go.

## How a Maghull job runs

- Step 1

### Free site visit and inspection
Daniel comes out, looks at the tree or hedge in person, checks access, ground conditions and what sits underneath. No quoting from photographs.

- Step 2

### Assessment and consent check
We identify the species, the condition and the sensible option, reduce, prune or remove, and check for Tree Preservation Orders or Conservation Area status. Any application is prepared and submitted in-house.

- Step 3

### Written price and agreed date
You get the price in writing with the work specified, then a start date that holds. Our reviewers mention that more than anything else.

- Step 4

### Controlled execution
The drop zone is set out, limbs are rigged and lowered rather than dropped where anything sits beneath, and roadside work is coned and managed. Daniel works on site with two regular crew, plus an extra qualified climber on the largest jobs.

- Step 5

### Clearance and final walk-round
Everything is chipped on site and recycled for biomass; nothing to landfill, included as standard. The site is raked and swept, and we walk the job with you before we leave.

## Maghull tree surgery questions

### Do you cover Maghull and the surrounding areas?
Yes, Maghull, Lydiate, Aintree, Melling and the surrounding north Merseyside suburbs, alongside Liverpool and Ormskirk.

### How soon can you get to Maghull?
Around 25 to 35 minutes from our St Helens base. Free quote visits are typically within a few days, and unsafe trees are prioritised within our 6am to 10pm working day.

### How much does hedge trimming cost in Maghull?
It depends on length, height and how much material comes off. There is no fixed price list; the site visit is free and you get a written price before anything is booked.

### Do you offer emergency tree work in Maghull?
We work 6am to 10pm, seven days, and prioritise genuinely dangerous trees within those hours. We do not advertise a 24/7 service we cannot properly staff.

### How far can leylandii be cut back?
It can be reduced in height as far as you like, but it will not regrow from brown wood on the sides, so there is a limit to how far in you can go and still keep a green face. We will explain exactly what your hedge can take before cutting.

### Can you remove a tree near my conservatory?
Yes. Limbs over glass are rigged and lowered under control rather than dropped, and we are insured with public liability cover up to £5 million, details available on request.

### Will you clear up afterwards?
Always. Everything is chipped on site and recycled for biomass, the ground is raked and swept, and removal is included as standard rather than charged as an extra.

### Can you grind the stump so I can lay a lawn?
Yes, below ground level, leaving soil and chip that can be dug out and topped up ready for turf, planting or paving.

### Could my tree be protected?
It is possible. We check for Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation Area status before quoting, and handle any application in-house on your behalf.

### Do you take on small jobs like one overhanging branch?
Yes, no job too small, no tree too tall. Small jobs get the same free visit and written price as large ones.
