Ivy can be almost impossible to control and, left to itself, can grow to such an extent it will damage your property. Aesthetically it can ruin the appearance of some tree species, such as silver birch, by hiding their hosts natural beauty.

If its growing on your house, it can force apart vulnerable masonry joints or even encroach into your home.

If its growing on an older tree it can create so much additional weight as to make the tree unstable.

Ivy can be a decorative addition to a garden but if allowed to grow out of control, especially in confined spaces, it can make trees, walls and other structures top heavy. In walls it can burst mortar joints open and expose brickwork to water damage. In trees it can make the tree canopy vulnerable to wind damage. In houses it can move roof tiles and soffits to compromise weather resistance.

Our team are qualified to identify areas where invasive ivy is causing, or likely to cause, problems and take steps to remedy or remove the plant.
